Often times, hemp is associated with its cousin, marijuana, or its sister, CBD. It's important to understand that Hart Hemp Co. is focused on growing non-intoxicating, industrial hemp. We farm hemp as an agricultural commodity. Our products are not ingested by the human body.
Hart Hemp Co. is the first farming company in Maryland to offer contract grow arrangements for industrial hemp farmers.
Industrial Hemp is environmentally beneficial due to it's ability to:
- Sequester carbon from the atmosphere
- Phytoremediate (remove heavy metals/contaminants from soil)
- Produce natural fibers used for textiles, paper, biodiesel, bio-concrete, bio-composite, etc.
- Reduce deforestation, pollution, and soil erosion by replacing plastic, paper, cotton, etc.
- Grow faster/be more readily available than conventional materials
- Conserve water
- Degrade quickly
